Last couple of days

Yesterday I went shopping in town with Beau. Not my favourite thing to do but I got to spend time with one of my favourite people so that was cool. Nixon got to hang out with Grandad for the day. I had to leave Grandad to do Grandadding while I attended a meeting. He seemed to cope quite well.

No photos yesterday. I was too stressed from shopping!! :)

Today we had a lovely day considering it was raining. We got a lovely surprise visit from Taua who stayed for tea and bath time. How lucky was that? I took Nixon shopping in Oxford while Grandad looked after Beau. Beau had a particularly grizzly day for some reason. He was really good when he was being cuddled. Who doesn't love being cuddled?

Here is our day in pictures.

Good morning sleepy boy

"Nana can I have the chill" said Nixon first thing this morning after we got up. "What is the chill?" said Nana "The Chill. Where did you put it?" Said Nixon. " Hey Grandad, do you know what the chill is?" said Nana. "No. Show me what you mean." Said Grandad. "Where did you put it Nana?" Said Nixon. "There is is" said Nixon as he picked up the water pistol and started saying, "Chill, chill, chill" as he pretended to fire it!

Straight out to fire the water pistols in the rain.

So for days Nixon has been running away from the vacuum cleaner. Today we couldn't get it off him! He has spent too much time with his grandad!

This is the result of leaving a pen in the room with a three year old at nap time!

Legs and arms covered.
Merry Christmas everyone
Hey Beau, I though we had weaseled out of nana's photo shoot this time.
Hello world

Yes, Grandad, I know he just had a bath. Yes, I know it is almost bedtime. Yes I do know this is full of sugar. Yes I noticed it is all over his face BUT in our family when you bake it is mandatory for the kids to clean the beaters off (yes they were turned off). So Grandad would you like the other beater?

Sunny day

We had a pretty big day. Forgot to take the camera to a few key places but we did get it out at home. This morning the boys helped me clean up my office at work. Beau was happy parked up on my chair at my desk and Nixon sorted out the toys and pushed the button on the shredder.

After a quick trip to the supermarket we cruised over to the park. Nixon is certainly a lot braver on the slide than he used to be.

Off home we went for some kai before Beau's sleep. While Beau slept we left Grandad in charge while Nixon and I went on a bear hunt in the paddock. The grass is well above his head so it was quite an adventure. Nixon was pretty sure he knew where the bear was but we just couldn't find  her. Nixon was sure it was a her. Maybe we will get her tomorrow.

Once Beau woke and we had arrived back from our great adventure the boys had pizza and pasta for lunch. Nixon and I worked on the garden while Beau drove the truck around the backyard.

We got the ball out and had quite a few throwing and catching lessons. Nixon and I both need more. We are at about the same level of ball skills as each other. That doesn't mean Nixon is advanced. It means I'm remedial!

Dinner was a success. Homemade fish and chips. Bath time was good. Beau went out like a light at bedtime and Nixon stayed up the latest he has so far.

The nana juice, Pinot Gris, was exceptionally good tonight.

Lunch on the deck

What do you want me to do with this spoon again? My fingers work just fine without it!

Do you mind? I'm trying to eat. Not a glamour photo!

Put that camera down and catch the ball please!

Turn your back for a minute nana and I can show off my climbing skills!

No. I won't smile.
How do I get down?
It has been a big day!
Full of beans
Tired? I'm not anywhere near tired!

Grandad's supervision duty at bath time. Row, row, row the boat blared from the bathroom. Beau was still singing, "Row, row, row" after he got out.

Pre Christmas Grandparenting

Come on Nana I have exploring to do!

Beau just crawled out of the house and put himself in this bucket. Yes it had water in it!

Charlie loves Beau.

I will climb this fence. Maybe not right now while you are watching but I will climb it!

Okay so I've worked out I can't fit through the wire to get to the Greyhounds but maybe you could lift me over?

Who has the right away? Pedestrians or bikies?

I'm too cool to smile when I'm on my bike.

Eat my dust Nana. I have no time for photos!

Labour Weekend Lovelies

What a busy weekend we have had with wonderful visitors. Not only Nixon and Beau but also Greg,  Carrie, Toby and Charlie. I didn't get the camera out until today though :( Was lovely to see the Baum family here though. Toby will make a great kennel hand. We need to get him here more often! Charlie can be the Chook House manager because he has egg collecting sorted out!

Smile it is bath time!
It is so cool that Nixon doesn't freak out about having a bath at our place any more. We couldn't get him out tonight!

Water baby
Hey nana!
Nixon

Watching Trackside!
Shhh nana. The dogs are running fast!
Boysenberry ice cream.

I'm going to save this bit of ice cream for Ron... Later on.

Really? I won't tell nana or granddad. I promise!

Cat doors are good ventilation for hotdogs.

We are being good nana. I promise!

Rocking Grandads shoes

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Goody Goody Gumdrops

This is good stuff

Do you like my new shirt that Grandad got in England?

Boys and their new tops.

A quick visit

Yesterday I popped into visit the whanau on the way home from my course/ meeting in Christchurch. It was great to see them. Snot all gone and the boys looking happy. Nixon asked where Grandad was and then Beau said, "Grandad". So cute. Nice to have my quick cuddles and smooches.

Miss my boys x (My big ones and wee ones!)

A quiet house

Well the time came last night when we had to take our wee men home to their new abode. They were both very excited to see their mum and dad back from Vietnam as well as their taua, tauanui, great grandad, Uncle Jesse and Spuddy. We weren't quite so excited about saying goodbye. I did have a nice day with 'Uncle Jesse' going to the mall then off to the track to see Feral Coaster come third in his race.

I think Nixon had an awesome day yesterday with the visit of a tractor to drive posts in for our new buffer fence.

Say cheese

Gwen has found a new bed
So Nixon took over hers

Move over bro I'm coming in!

Tauanui's tiger sleeping bag purchase has stolen a couple of hearts
Look into my eyes

Nah... Look into MY eyes!
So Nixon how do you get that car out of there?
Whoa! Cool tractor!
So cute when Nixon brought his tractor back out with him to watch the post driving.

Concentration and focus. Nothing competes with a tractor.
The new kennel hand smooching Ridgy.
If it is good enough for Beau to be pushed around it is good enough for me too! After all it was mine first! It is hard work watching tractors.
Yep it is very hard work waiting for little boys to come back from watching tractors.
