Yesterday I popped into visit the whanau on the way home from my course/ meeting in Christchurch. It was great to see them. Snot all gone and the boys looking happy. Nixon asked where Grandad was and then Beau said, "Grandad". So cute. Nice to have my quick cuddles and smooches.
Miss my boys x (My big ones and wee ones!)

A quiet house
Well the time came last night when we had to take our wee men home to their new abode. They were both very excited to see their mum and dad back from Vietnam as well as their taua, tauanui, great grandad, Uncle Jesse and Spuddy. We weren't quite so excited about saying goodbye. I did have a nice day with 'Uncle Jesse' going to the mall then off to the track to see Feral Coaster come third in his race.
I think Nixon had an awesome day yesterday with the visit of a tractor to drive posts in for our new buffer fence.

Say cheese
Gwen has found a new bed
So Nixon took over hers
Move over bro I'm coming in!
Tauanui's tiger sleeping bag purchase has stolen a couple of hearts
Look into my eyes
Nah... Look into MY eyes!
So Nixon how do you get that car out of there?
Whoa! Cool tractor!
So cute when Nixon brought his tractor back out with him to watch the post driving.
If it is good enough for Beau to be pushed around it is good enough for me too! After all it was mine first! It is hard work watching tractors.
Yep it is very hard work waiting for little boys to come back from watching tractors.

Saturdays Adventures
Today we spent the morning in our PJs. Well not Mick. Mick did dogs and outside bloke stuff but the boys and I didn't get out of our PJs until after Beau's sleep. Then it was all go.
We all took Sam out and gave him a gallop. Nixon was fascinated by the lure. Lure being a new word he learned at Addington on Tuesday. He was a bit disappointed when the battery was flat and it wouldn't work. Sam "ran fast" though so Nixon got some entertainment. Beau was just happy with the kisses Sam gave him. What a placid wee man Beau is.
After that we jumped in "Grandad's truck" to go and get an ice cream with a wee detour to look under the "big bridge". A nice day out had by all. We had two very tired boys at the end of the day.
I have come to the conclusion that grandparents look old because grandparenting is hard work! I have achieved nothing that I needed to get done these school holidays. I have pottered on with a wee bit of work when I can but I will be chasing my tail next week be ready for the new term. But it doesn't matter. All the wee chats, cuddles, wiping noses and laughing is worth it.
Have a look at our day if you like.

The sand monsters!
Best seat in the house.
Splish Splash
Ice creams at the Springfield shop after finding out that Pie Shops don't sell ice creams. Who would have thought?
A bit more of yesterday
Well with a bit of time and patience this evening I was able to upload the photos from my phone. I don't know why my phone didn't like my Google Drive last night but all is sorted. Check out some of the adventures of our wee boys over the past couple of days.

July 2016
It has been a while. I'm more tired than I was at the end of term. Two little people is a lot of work when you have a wounded greyhound in the house that the 11 month old just wants to smooch and house full of charger cords and nick naks that are not suitable for being admired by toddler or baby. No fire guard and a labrador that loves the tamariki more than they love him also makes for a challenging experience. BUT (never start a sentence with but...) we are having a ball being grandparents (even though I still believe we are ten years doing this earlier than we should be. 27 is far too young to be a nana).
My plan all week has been to post on here once the little people are in bed but I've been too knackered! Also my favourite camera is not working. That has broken my heart but hopefully my purchases on ebay will rectify that. In the meantime I shook the cobwebs off my old one and used my iphone. That has made posting even more challenging because I am sourcing my images from all over the place. A bit like an international drug dealer does when purchasing the goods for their customers. Well I assume it is similar.
I have, in fact, had to pop out and source drugs for these wee snot gobblers. The chemist was rubbing his hands together when we arrived leaving trails of snot behind us. Poor wee guys have been a bit crook the week before they came to us and were well on the mend when they arrived but still not 100%.
Nixon has been well impressed with the digger working on the bridge at our gate and the many trucks going past at 30kms because of the road works. "Wow, that was a big truck," has become a regular statement over past couple of days. Beau just looks at his big brother with great admiration each time he speaks. So cute.
Grandad has become even more popular (who would have thought that was possible) due to his now famous (in Nixon's world) hot chocolates. The toast in bed continues with the crumbs all on my side. That is something I need to sort out.
Beau still is dragging himself along the floor like an Olympic breast stroke swimmer. He doesn't seem to be interested in crawling around in the traditional way. He is a modern new age baby making his own traditions.
Nixon's singing has kept us entertained. He has the ABC song sorted until he gets to 's' then the last bit is a bit muddled. The wheels and wipers on the bus are doing our heads in but he does sing it beautifully. My favourite is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Next NZ Idol I reckon or X Factor winner.
More photos to come. Having technical difficulties... watch this space!
