14 January 2014

Good morning little man! This wee man wakes up so happy. Nikki treated us to delicious pancakes for breakfast. Nixon got more on his face than in his mouth!

Escaping in the PJs

Pancake, chocolate sauce and cream are all good for your skin when you are 14 months old.

Okay maybe it isn't good for your skin but I'm gonna wash it off!

Is it off?
Nixon helped me out in the garden. I got a few hours in before getting ready for the Hokitika races.
Right let's get into the gardening. I'll use this. It has a wheel!
We got to the races about the 5th race but we still had a nice time. Nixon loved the band. He was mesmerized by it.
Paki paki
Good looking bunch of people here!

Can you see that over there?
Was so cool to catch up with with Marina and Morehu.
Nixon boogying away while Toihi waited patiently (Nixon didn't ask her to dance!)

Number 1 Fan with a front row seat

When I grow up I am going to do this.

I'm a chick magnet!

Right had enough of that. Where is my mother!

Actually I only wanted the chocolate not this cold stuff!

Bring it on Movember. I have it covered.
After the races we went round to Uncle Jesse's place to chill out and make plans for dinner.
The Godfather

Uncle and Neff

Wake up Uncle Jesse. I'm starting to get bored now.

Let me down!

I'm not paying for this top knot Uncle Jesse. Don't give up your day job. Keep hairdressing as a hobby eh?!
Does it look okay Nana?

I will pay you in cuddles

Nixon starting his own blog!

Private joke?
Nixon went home and was well looked after by Toihi while Caley, Nikki-Leigh, Hayden, Jesse and I went out for dinner at Stumpers (my favourite place to eat!). My Seafood Chowder was delicious, so was my vegetarian thingy I had too. I should have had the blue cod. Hayden you are so lucky I didn't steal it from you! Missed you Johnno, Charlotte and Mick :)

13 January 2015

It is nice to be home but sad to see my garden the way it is.  I had a great day in the garden trying to get rid of the weeds. They are going to beat me this trip. I don't have enough time to put my pride and joy back into the state it should be in. One of the many downsides of living away from home I guess. I had a wee helper in the garden. Nixon was very happy to help control the wheelbarrow!
I can walk now!
Let me out!
I'll push it for you nana
Why won't it move?
It was very hot. I got a good tan for the day. We had to take a few break to recover.
Rabbit break

awww

They tickle!
I will not pose with this cat!

I'll pose by myself!

Checking out the cicada with Uncle John

I don't know about this little thing Unc.
I had a lovely feed of fish and chips (though Jesse had Indian takeaways cos FnCs are too common for him!) at the beach. Trying to get a shot of my boys together! is like pulling teeth!
Jesse, Hayden and Johnno. Love these guys even if they are the reason I'm nuts.

5th of January

We were sad today. It just wasn't the same without our wee man here to brighten our day. We had to talk to each other. We got sick of that so we went out onto the life sentence block and worked on our little projects even though the ridiculous heat nearly killed us. I don't think Nixon would have liked it at all.

Mick finished laying the cobblestones and I carried on working in the gardens. A very quiet day :(

4th January 2015

Our last day :(

We are going to miss that cheerful smile in the mornings.

Good morning our wee ray of sunshine!
Tracy, Craig and Rebecca dropped the princess greyhound this morning while they went off to Hokitika. Nixon wasn't at all phased by the additional four-legged furry beast in the house.
Look what I found on the cupboard! I'm tempted not to clean it off!
After Nixon's sleep we ventured outside into the 37 degree C heat to see what Grandad was up to. I popped him on the grass and off he went straight to the wheelbarrow. He tried hard to push it but it wouldn't budge. Might be due to the fact it was full of rocks!
Come on. Move!
Move it!!!

Hmm. Is this carpet grandad? Are you part gorilla?
Last cuddles with grandad before we jumped in the van and headed off to Arthurs Pass to meet Nikki-Leigh and Hayden.

Nixon slept most of the way to Arthurs then sat there quietly in the back in his own wee day dream world which was good really because it meant I could concentrate and watch the swivel heads in front of me break at every corner then speed up on the straights, swerve over the center line and slow down on the blind corners expecting me to over take them. I should be a driving instructor. I hope Nixon didn't hear any of the bad words that were meant to stay inside my head but may have slipped out.

We met Nikki and Hayd at the famous Arthurs Pass public toilets! He was pleased to see his mum and dad.
The reunion

My boy and his boy.
Off we went to the shop to get a cold drink then a wander up to the waterfall and back to the car. It was pretty cold up there but there was a breeze that cooled things slightly.
Nice family snap

Cruising on the grass.

Ring my Beeellllsss, ring my bell la, la, la...

We witnessed the mouse plague first hand. We saw a few squashed ones on the way into Arthurs Pass but saw a few more scuttling around the town. Hayden said they weren't as bad as when they went through last time. I think it was just far too hot for them.

I am unsure if Hayden took this or me but how cute the horrid little thing looks!
Your parents have seen you now, you can come back with me. They are so selfish taking you back. Stay!!!
It was awful saying goodbye. I am really going to miss this wee fellow. Even though I know I will see him again on Friday it just won't be the same around here without him.

I took my time coming back with lots of photo stops. When I got back Mick had started dinner and sorted the house out a bit. Tracy, Craig and Rebecca stopped for dinner when they came to get Gwen. It was lovely to have the company.

We are missing our wee man tonight. I love being a nana. How lucky am I?
