New Year's Day

What a lovely start to the year. I actually beat Grandad to Nixon's wake up call today. I had heaps of snuggles first thing. Nixon's smile is a wonderful way to start the day and an excellent way to begin a new year.  He was up at 7.30am and back in for a nap about 8.45.

We were spoiled with a visit from Rebecca, Tracey, Craig and of course Gwen the Greyhound Princess. Tracey brought her plunger, coffee and fancy fresh farm milk (notice the unintended alliteration there - I am getting poetic with my blog!). Thank you for the books you brought for Nixon (especially Rebecca because I do believe they actually belonged to you!).

It was lovely sitting out in the sun drinking coffee and catching. Nixon was surprised by all the new people but loved Grandad reading his new books to him.  Ben enjoyed meeting Gwen but Gwen preferred his sister Mo. I think Craig has nearly been convinced to adopt a new Greyhound into the Doe family. It was a lovely morning.

Grandad couldn't wait to show Nixon his real lawn mower and give him a hoon on it. Boys and their toys!
Man this thing corners like it is on rails (what movie is that line from people?)

Watch the roses Grandad

Nope I'm not going in that pool today. Catch me if you can Nana!

Puku!

Thanks for the books Rebecca, Tracy and Craig!

Who can make the funniest face?

The rest of the day was very uneventful and quiet which is probably what we all needed after a bit of a late night and a busy week of being full time Nana and Grandads. It was so very hot. Nixon wasn't keen on the pool. He spent a fair bit of the morning in outside in the sun (covered in sunblock) so I tried to keep him in for the afternoon. He is very tanned at the moment.

Nixon was back in bed about 7.40pm after a feed of steak and vegetables (I confess that it was out of a Watties babyfood can but I could have made it if I wanted to!).

Sorry not so many photos today. Happy New Years everyone :)
