29 January 2014

Up at about 7am. Grandad let me sleep in so I didn't get so much snuggle time :( Can't complain about the shut eye though. I think I needed it! We had some stories before Nixon went back to bed at 8ish for about an hour with his bottle.

Good morning wee man

Grandad was quick off the mark after he woke again to go and see our wee man. I had lovely toast with the new marmalade from the market, well I had some of it, Nixon had most of it. He liked it better than his muesli and banana. He is a fussy wee man with a sweet tooth.
A nice change from Old MacDonald's farm!

Grandad read a few more stories before he disappeared to take some dogs to the track. We had to sort the other dogs out before we left for our long walk.
Aunty Maggie babysitting while I sort the dogs out.
We were about half way back when I realised he had biffed his hat right where we turned around so we had to go all the way back! If Mick hadn't have taken the car seat with him I would have driven back to get it!

We found Old MacDonald's cows

Nixon wasn't too sure about them.

Drink stop. It was too hot without our aqua fix.

Hmmm it didn't mention goats in our Old MacDonald's book. Who do these belong to?
After a sandwich, or a bit of it, Nixon went off to bed about 1ish and had an hour's kip. Grandad arrived back with a bunch of flowers for me. I wonder what he has been up to?!
The mysterious romantic gesture

Once Nixon woke up Grandad got stuck in to pump up the flash new paddling pool that Hayden and Nikki brought. We certainly needed something to cool off in. It was a bit of a mission getting it all pumped up but Grandad came to the rescue and got it sorted out.

What is this? A cold bath?

Hmmm it isn't so bad

Actually it is quite cool

In fact it is awesome!

Nixon was a bit unsure about the pool to start with but he came in with me and paddled around before finally sitting down. Then there was no stopping him! He almost splashed all the water out of it!
Just putting one foot in front of the other.
Walking lessons with grandad followed to warm up a bit. It won't be long until he is on his feet and running around.
Peek - a - boo!

Dinner time came and went with Nixon eating half the potato creation I made for him. He blobbed out in his pushchair (make do high chair) for a wee while after. Content in his own wee world.

After the bath came the big run around again. Off he went hooning around in his birthday suit changing direction when I got near him. I could lose 10kg if Nixon stayed here for a month I reckon. Finally I managed to get him dressed into the Buzzy Bee suit we brought him almost a year ago in Te Anau. At the time it seemed he would never fit it.

I can see you!

Twerking while grandad gets the kai sorted.

Hmm I get told off when I sniff the mini human's bum and now he is sticking it in my face! I will get the blame for sure!
Finally he has stood up on the door frame!

Straight out the door he went. Nixon managed to stand up in the doorway for the first time. He has been trying to do it since he got here but chickened out each time.

Yummy.
Once again Grandad's dinner had to be shared with Nixon. A lovely pasta. Nixon couldn't get enough of it. I'm going to leave all the cooking up to Grandad now! It could however be the novelty of sitting on his knee at the table.

It always tastes better when it belongs to someone else.
Bottle and bed just before 8pm. Another lovely day with our moko. Now to find out what Grandad has been up to to bring me flowers hmmmm. It is either another woman(I haven't seen any with a white stick in Oxford), he has thrown out a pair of my shoes (which is a death sentence), he wants a new dog or the surgeon did fix the romantic part of his heart and the repairs have only just kicked in... watch this space!
