Day Eleven

6am up out of bed and into the kennels. No wet kennels. Thank you Ben :)

Last night I packed the car, got Nixon's and my clothes ready so we can head off straight off to Rangiora to get some dog food and supplies. I am envious of Mother Hubbard's cupboards at the moment.

8am Nixon is up. We hit the road by 8.45. Left a bit of a mess in the lounge but I'm focussed on getting to Rangiora, doing our thing and getting home again by 12.00.

We hit the supermarket. OMG Nixon looks so cute sitting up in the trolley. I wish I had my camera. We filled the first trolley with dog food and go and pick up another one to get some food. Never go shopping before you eat breakfast. It is a fact.

After the supermarket we get the pram out and walk around the Artisan Bakery for a cuppa and for Nixon to have his solids. A trip in the elevator took us upstairs where heaps of little kids were decorating gingerbread men. So cute.

Another trip in the elevator and we wandered the streets a bit. Not a lot for babies in town unless you want to take out a second mortgage but we looked anyway. That is the best look around Main Street, Rangiora I've had since I've been here. Back to the car after popping into the op shop to pick up some dog blankets.

Nixon slept all the way home and woke up at the gate! He sat nicely in the car while I took the groceries in and put the fridge stuff away.

Out came the push chair again so we could go and let the kenneled dogs out for the toilet. Nixon sat and chatted to the clucky hounds again. They will be charging me for babysitting soon!
This wee man is so still teething. Te other top tooth is all but through.
Back inside and Nixon had a banana for lunch and a play on the floor before having a wee nap. I got to unpack the rest of the groceries, do some school work  and get the washing out. Super Nana or what?

Craig, Nina, Paige and Alex came around for a visit. Was so nice to catch up and have a chinwag. Nixon showed how well he can puke after his bottle. Wasn't his best efforts but he demonstrated it well.

After our visitors left it was time to get stuck in to the evening feed. Nixon has been a bit out of routine today due to the trip to Rangivegas. He was a good boy. Chatted to the clucky hounds then to the kenneled dogs. Ben (the notorious over night kennel piddler) was fascinated with Nixon and so very gentle with him.
A portrait of Ben here for Grandad. He is having a sulk because I took him away from Nixon and he wanted to go back. He is such a good dog. He wants to be a Labrador.
After we did the dogs Nixon had a good play on the floor.
 He squished his toys
 He face planted them
 And he chewed them.
Bored with the toys Nixon demonstrated some unique yoga techniques.
He then moved all over the floor. Mostly backwards and didn't make it to any targets he had his eyes on but ended up finding something cooler than his toys. The stereo. The naughtiness begins!

After dinner and the nightly routine Nixon was in bed by 6.45 which I think was a good effort after his messy day.
