First Day

Nixon's first day with Nana.

It was very sad dropping Nikki-Leigh and Hayden off (but I know they will have an awesome time!). Nixon fell asleep about 2pm about a third of the way up the Old West Coast Road and woke up just when we started going down the Waimakariri Gorge.

When we got home it was a quick change for both of us into warm gears and out we went to let the dogs out for a piddle. The dogs were really fascinated by Nixon and a couple had a close up sniff and got a few sound effects from Nixon in return. (good ones)

We came in for bit of down time and a nappy change (please do not feed your baby butter chicken before I have him again Nikki-Leigh!!! lol) Charlie weasled in for usual cuddles and play. He just loves Nixon.

Back out for feeding time at 4.30. A bit early for the dogs but better to change their routine than Nixons.  Bloody stressful. Nixon was a pretty good kennel hand until near the end when Nixon spat the dummy a wee bit and let me know how his lungs work. I think if it was translated I would haven known he was saying, "I'm over this Nana. Bloody greyhounds. What about me!"

Inside for a feed of (Tender beef with vegetables - home made by nana - well heated by nana!). Three quarters of a jar either went in Nixons mouth, on his face or on the table.

Nixon was stripped off and left to roll around in the nudey and enjoying it (so much like his Uncle Johnno it is scary!) before posing with his muscles for the camera (also a lot like Uncle Jesse).A nice warm bath with his new rubber ducky followed. I didn't really need to pull the plug because most water ended up around the kitchen.

Back on the floor to do an Uncle John impersonation before getting powdered, bepanthened, and dressed in his PJs. Just before 6.30 he had his bottle, drank it all but slept through the last half of it. Nixon was burped while he slipped into his sleeping bag.

End of day one... maybe... watch this space!
"Hey dude, can you see what I can see?"
I hope I'm getting paid the going rate for being a kennel hand.
This is not Butter Chicken!
See my six pack Uncle Jesse?
Dessert. Jam. Toe Jam.
Tasty. I bet you wish you could do this Uncle John!
I love you Nixon. I love you too Charlie!
Splish Splash I was takin' a bath!
Zonked.
