Day Ten

The usual start today. Dogs, speed shower then getting my lovely wee man out of bed. He had scratched his face a bit and has a wee rash. A close look in his mouth and we have a NEW TOOTH!!! If you look closely at the top right of Nixon's cute wee mouth you will see the cause of his bad mood yesterday evening. His skin has been quite rough since late last week so after the bottle I dressed Nixon and we did dash to the chemist to see what they thought. We also were  down to five nappies so we needed to pick up another pack.

The chemist said to stop using soap and talc, which I had stopped, and to continue to put the olive oil in his bath water (I have only been putting in a couple of drops) and sold me some stuff called "Fatty Cream". I have to put it on Nixon twice a day. It is already making a difference. It is a natural product so should be good.

We picked up the nappies, bonjela (there are three other swollen lumps at the top of Nixon's mouth) and bugger me if a peanut slab didn't appear in the trolley. Weird things happen in that supermarket. I had to get one of the shop assistants to help me select the nappies. I had no idea. Do you know how many different types of nappies there are? Must be a lot of different types of bums out there. I only look at cute ones so I hadn't really noticed before.

On the way home Nixon started dropping off. I kept him awake until we got in and he went straight to bed. I got a wee bit more work done before Barbara, a lovely friend and colleague from work, called in for a visit and a cuddle (Nixon not me!).
Nixon did a bit of knee rocking and backward shuffling. He can't be growing teeth and learning to crawl at the same time. He is a boy after all and we know about blokes and multi-tasking!
After a lunch of delicious (not) veges Nixon went back for a wee nap. Very short but went back down again about 3.30pm. He woke up happy. I chatted to Hayden and told him Nixon was much happier today but that statement JINXED US. After I finished yakking to Hayd, Nixon decided to let me know how much his mouth hurt. He didn't want his dinner, he didn't want cuddles... out came the magic Pamol to work along side the Bonjela. After about 40 minutes he ate his dinner beautifully. That was after an entree of plastic caterpillar that he nearly chewed to bits. Poor baby.
A good old splash in the bath not only flooded the kitchen (it needed a mopping anyway) but relaxed our little man. Nothing like a good water slapping sessions to release the frustrations of teething.
All snuggled up waiting for his massage with the new cream.

Today I'm tired.
